Pipe freezing is a method used on pipes containing fluid so repairs, replacement and maintenance can be carried out without the need to drain the system.
Liquid Nitrogen is applied by our experienced technicians to a section of pipe. The contents of this area then freeze, causing an ‘ice plug’ to form. As a result, fluid is prevented from flowing allowing work to then be carried out on the line.
Once the work is complete, the ice plug is melted and the liquid once again flows as normal.
